I love visiting my friends in Tahoe and snapped this photo last weekend. I’m always inspired by the beauty of balance in life and nature — and these carefully stacked rocks felt like the perfect metaphor.
I was delighted — though not surprised — by the Fed’s interest rate cut on Wednesday and the clear signaling of further reductions ahead. The goal: bringing our economy into better balance. Mortgage rates are now at their lowest in three years, giving buyers significantly more purchasing power.
Just like travel and weather, the “shoulder seasons” of spring and fall bring wonderful opportunities. In Lamorinda, spring is typically our strongest market period, followed by a healthy early-fall bump that lasts through early to mid-November. It will be fascinating to see how these lower interest rates influence home sales in the coming weeks. (Fun fact: applications to refinance jumped 58% last week compared with the week prior and are up 70% from the same week a year ago — CNBC.)
